I provide individual psychotherapy to patients ages 18 year of age and older who reside in California. At the moment, I am not providing therapy for anyone under the age of 18 years. Currently, all of my psychotherapy services are provided via telehealth. Telehealth has been shown to be an effective way of delivering psychotherapy. I hope that telehealth provides a convenience to my clients to attend all of their sessions and maximize the benefits of therapy.
The length of treatment will vary by individual patient and largely depends on the presenting concern, therapy goals, and commitment to therapy. I am typically able to provide an estimated treatment timeline after the initial assessment has been completed.
I use evidence-based treatments in my work with patients. However, it is of utmost importance to tailor these evidence-treatments to the specific needs of the patient. I strive to work collaboratively with my patients to find the best way to tailor their treatment. For more information on the types of evidence-based treatments used, see below.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps patients understand how their own thoughts and behaviors contribute to the current concerns that led them to pursue treatment. The goal with this approach is for clients to identify the thinking and behavior patterns that contribute to feelings of distress and that continue to reinforce their concerns and develop strategies to change/challenge these patterns that will lead to a more healthy way of life.
CBT encompasses multiple approaches including, but not limited to Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Exposure and Response Prevention.

Consultation and training services are available for organizations interested in helping their staff develop skills in health behavior change for patients dealing with chronic illness or mental health issues. These services typically focus on motivational enhancement techniques, basic CBT approaches, among others. I provide training to medical professionals (medical doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists, case managers, medical assistants) who work with patients with HIV, cancer, diabetes, chronic pain, cancer, among other diseases.
I am also able to provide training workshops for professionals and organizations who serve Latinx and LGBTQ populations. The workshops focused primarily on creating more inclusive and supportive spaces accessed by Latinx and LGBTQ populations (e.g., medical settings, schools, corporate work spaces, etc).
I also have extensive experience working with school teachers developing their capacity in identifying and addressing behavioral problems with students from elementary school to high school.
Please contact me to discuss yours or your organization’s consultation and training needs.
